A federal judge says the imprisoned son of Michael Douglas could be a government witness at an upcoming drug-smuggling trial in New York City.
The judge named Cameron Douglas as a possible witness at a pretrial hearing Tuesday in Manhattan.
The eldest son of the Oscar-winning actor was sentenced to five years in prison last year for dealing methamphetamine from a high-end Manhattan hotel.
Prosecutors could call him to the stand under a cooperation agreement requiring him testify against one of his alleged suppliers.
Jury selection is set to begin on Monday.
