NIAGARA FALLS, NY — The mayor of Niagara Falls, Ontario, has become the first Canadian official to publicly support an attempt by daredevil Nik Wallenda to cross Niagara Falls on a wire, the Buffalo News reported yesterday.
Mayor James Diodati expressed his support to New York state Sen. George Maziarz, who co-sponsored legislation to allow the first wire walk across the falls since 1910. The bill passed last month but has not yet been sent to Gov. Cuomo.
