Misty eyes accompanied the solidarity when Rep. Edolphus Towns organized a prayer service for Haiti’s earthquake victims at Beraca Baptist Church.

The congressman, an ordained minister, and Pastor Mullery Jean-Pierre led mourners in the vigil for the recovery of the Caribbean nation which was ravaged by a 7.0-magnitude shockwave, January 12, leaving tens of thousands dead and thousands more displaced from their homes.

The Canarsie house of worship is located at 9602 Flatlands Avenue.
