A New Jersey man was sentenced yesterday to five years in prison for scheming to collect refunds from false tax returns — by using personal data stolen from adult and pediatric cancer patients.
Jason Eaton, 29, of Englewood, pleaded guilty last November to conspiracy to file false claims and commit credit-card fraud.
He also was ordered to pay nearly $300,000 in restitution.
