An inspector who faked hundreds of asbestos and lead tests is getting sprung from the slammer because he’s dying of cancer.
Saverio Todaro — who ran an inspection company in Queens — got five-plus years behind bars in 2010 after admitting that he falsely certified buildings as toxin-free.
Although he’s not scheduled for a “good conduct” release until 2015, the feds filed papers yesterday saying that Todaro, 69, is unlikely to live more than a year.
Hours later, Manhattan federal Judge Kimba Wood ordered him sent home to be cared for by his wife.
His lawyer said his condition was not caused by asbestos exposure.
