An elderly man was killed when a car rammed into him as he attempted to cross a Brooklyn Street Friday evening, police said.

Joseph L. Ciresi, 82, stepped into the roadway at Gerritsen Avenue and Knapp Street in Sheepshead Bay at about 7:15 p.m. when a Mercury Marquis hit him, according to authorities.

When police arrived, they found the victim unconscious and with head trauma.

Paramedics responded and declared the man dead on the scene.

The driver of the Marquis remained on scene, police said.

The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is conducting an investigation.
