WASHINGTON — Carly Fiorina is ramping up her presidential campaign in New York by adding three co-chairs to her team — including the wife of Ari Fleischer, who served as press secretary to George W. Bush.

Becki Fleischer, who now does consulting work for nonprofits, also worked for Bush in budget and education positions.

Others joining Fiorina are ex-US Rep. Nan Hayworth and Assemblyman Kieran Lalor (R,C,I-Fishkill). Fleischer’s husband, Ari, remains neutral in the race, which includes George W.’s brother, Jeb.

Fiorina has moved up in the polls after her strong showing at the “kids’ table” debate for the seven GOP candidates with the lowest poll scores.

“She’s got presence. She doesn’t act like a newcomer,” said University of New Hampshire political-science professor Dante Scala.

“She’s quite articulate. She’s very polished.”
