A Long Island man whose 3-year-old theft case was buried by cops at the behest of his wealthy father appeared in court yesterday as his lawyer insisted the officers did nothing wrong.
Zachary Parker, 20, was in Nassau Supreme Court for a hearing on charges that he stole $10,000 worth of electronics from John F. Kennedy HS in Bellmore in 2009.
He appeared a day after three top Nassau cops accused of quashing the case were arraigned on official misconduct.
Parker has been free without bail since his September indictment on burglary and grand-larceny charges.
His lawyer, Robert Schalk, said there was nothing unusual in cops quashing the case at the behest of Parker’s father, a generous benefactor of Nassau police.
“No one was seeking favoritism or special treatment,” Schalk said.
