Atlantic City, battered by casinos in neighboring states and pummeled by the uncertain economy, hopes its luck is starting to turn.

Revenues at its 11 casinos fell just 3.7 percent in June, to $276.2 million, one of the best showings in the past 4½ years.

“There is light at the end of the tunnel,” said Tony Rodio, president of the Tropicana.
