YONKERS — A man who was on probation for throwing his mother’s cat from a 14th-story window is now charged with killing a former friend.

Yonkers police say Shaman Irvin is charged in the shooting death of 18-year-old Tyrone Stone.

First Deputy Police Chief Charles Gardner says the homicide may have been retaliation for an earlier fight.

Irvin was arraigned Monday in Yonkers City Court on a charge of second-degree murder. The name of his attorney was not immediately on record.
