Two-dozen Harlem students are revving up for a “once in a lifetime” chance to meet Pope Francis.

“It’s so exciting because how many people can say they’ve met the pope?” said 9-year-old Nicholas Marronaro, a fourth-grader at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic school on East 112th Street.

The school is the fourth stop on the man-of-the-people pope’s schedule during

next month.

The pontiff will be greeted by hundreds of students outside the East Harlem school before getting escorted inside, where more students will line the hallways for a peek at the pope.

“The fact that in a short time in New York City, he said, ‘I want to come to a school in the inner city,’ tells me our priorities are very closely aligned with his priorities,” said Tim McNiff, superintendent of schools for the Archdiocese of New York.

The pope’s visit on Sept. 25 includes sitting in a classroom with four principals and 24 third- and fourth-graders from four local Catholic schools, including St. Ann and St. Charles Borromeo.
