ALBANY — Catholics are stepping up their opposition to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s proposal to expand abortion rights under a women’s-rights package of bills.

Kathleen Gallagher, director of pro-life activities for the New York State Catholic Conference, accused Cuomo of trying to push through an abortion bill that’s been stalled in the Legislature by tying it to such issues as human sex trafficking.
