The search for Katie Couric’s replacement has shifted into overdrive.

With the “CBS Evening News” anchor’s $75 million contract expiring in June and Couric very publicly fielding a slew of offers — including hosting a syndicated daytime show — CBS is preparing for life after Katie.

“The likelihood is that she will leave the ‘Evening News.’ She is leaning toward doing a syndicated show, and the leading contenders are CBS and NBC,” a high-placed source told The Post late yesterday.

Should Couric leave, veteran CBS anchor Scott Pelley, currently a “60 Minutes” correspondent, is the odds-on favorite to replace her.

“We appreciate the fascination with Katie, but she has not made any decision about her future,” Couric’s spokesman told The Post.
