Cézanne ‘stolen’
The Bolsheviks stole his family’s Cézanne masterpiece in 1918, and now it’s on the walls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a Frenchman charges in a new federal lawsuit.
Pierre Konowaloff is seeking to have the $50 to $70 million “Madame Cézanne in the Conservatory” returned to his family, according to Manhattan federal court papers.
