A proposal to limit Upper West Side storefront dimensions neared reality yesterday with key approval from the City Council Land Use Committee.

The proposal would cap most storefronts along Broadway and Amsterdam and Columbus avenues at 40 feet and banks at 25 feet.

The New York Bankers Association calls the plan discriminatory.
