TRENTON, NJ — A New Jersey assemblyman arrested on charges he wrote nearly $400,000 in bad checks to investors has been released on his own recognizance.
Robert Schroeder, 52, turned himself in to state police yesterday.
Authorities say the Republican lawmaker from Bergen County gave the bad checks to two investors in his business, which sells tents and huts to the federal government.
