A high school student from China was beaten and robbed by a thug who followed him into his Queens dormitory and claimed he was looking for a job, cops said.

The incident happened inside St. John’s Preparatory High School in Long Island City, when the 18-year-old student was returning to his room around 6:35 p.m. on Sunday.

“Can you get me a job?” the perp asked the student in an elevator.

Moments later, the man began pummeling the unsuspecting 18-year-old — punching him several times in the head, police said.

Video released by police on Tuesday shows the elevators door open to the roughed-up teen lying on the floor. The violent man walks away from the doors, but then returns and pulls the victim up before a witness intervenes.

The thug stole the student’s cell phone before fleeing the scene, police said.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Queens, where he was treated and released.

A rep from St. John’s Prep did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The private school boasts itself as “one of New York’s top choices for an international student,” according to its website.
