Chris nips ‘stubborn’ Mike
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie stepped up his attacks on Mayor Bloomberg yesterday, suggesting the mayor “get over his stubbornness” and allow the head of the Port Authority to speak at the 10th anniversary commemoration of 9/11.
“Everyone wins if he does the right thing,” Christie said, “and that is to include the chairman of the Port Authority [David Samson] on that day, to read a passage.”
Christie said he wanted the mayor “to think about the important symbolic value to the families of the victims who worked for the Port Authority.”
Christie’s remarks came a few of hours after the mayor tried to tamp down a dispute over who’ll get to speak alongside President Obama and former President George W. Bush at the historic 9/11 ceremony.
