Church big dodges jail
The world’s largest Pentecostal church is still under investigation by Manhattan prosecutors after its former New York treasurer was sentenced yesterday for lying on multimillion-dollar mortgage applications.
Regina DaSilva, once the Brazil-based Universal Church of the Kingdom of God’s top bean counter in New York, will serve no prison time under her conviction for offering a false instrument for filing.
