A black city attorney who handled equal-employment opportunity compliance won a $225,000 settlement in her suit accusing two agencies of discriminating against her.

Special Hagan, 39, said she was paid less and treated more harshly than her white peers at the city Department of Information Technology before she was transferred to the Department of Correction and fired.

The Law Department said settling “was best for the city.”
