Williamsburg’s Fatty ‘Cue was just hailed the “best new restaurant in Brooklyn,” but city health inspectors say it’s the worst.
Time Out magazine cited “memorable dishes: slices of brisket and cubes of fat-ridged deckle [a cut of meat] piled next to chili jam, cilantro and steamed buns” in naming it “Kings County’s latest and greatest restaurant.”
The Department of Health, which shuttered the Asian eatery Monday, was more taken by its “vermin infestation” and “inadequate hand washing facilities,” and hit it with 115 violation points.
Because any score over 27 points earns a failing C grade, Fatty ‘Cue was forced to turn its carnivorous, hipster clientele away until its facilities were brought back up to code.
The news didn’t damage restaurateur Zakary Pelaccio’s sense of humor.
“We just couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate winning Best New Brooklyn Restaurant,” the restaurant told the blog Eater.
Fatty ‘Cue has since resolved the violations, and was able to reopen last night, officials told The Post.
“We’re open tonight! Haters be damned,” the restaurant tweeted yesterday.
Health officials said they will post “a grade-pending sign until they have their next graded inspection.”
