In a cost-saving measure, the City Council is considering folding the Government Operations Committee into the Committee on Technology in Government, with Councilwoman Gale Brewer (D-Manhattan) heading it.

Brewer, who declined comment, currently chairs the technology committee and is involved the city’s effort to get its own Web domain, dot nyc and twittering Council hearings.

Several sources told The Post that the Council is mulling combining committees to save money, since each one comes with a stipend for the chair.
