City Councilman Ruben Wills was arrested Tuesday on charges he filed false documents with the Conflicts of Interest Board between 2011 and 2013, authorities said.
The embattled Queens Democrat, who was indicted last May on charges that he stole more than $30,000 in taxpayer money, allegedly “failed to disclose certain financial dealings” in five annual disclosure reports, state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said in announcing the new indictment.
Wills pleaded not guilty to the charges Tuesday morning in Manhattan Supreme Court. If convicted, he could face 1 and 1/3 to 4 years in prison.
A spokeswoman reached at his district office said she knew nothing about the latest indictment.
Schneiderman previously charged Wills with multiple counts of looting a nonprofit he founded called New York 4 Life and allegedly using some of the dough to go on shopping sprees at Nordstrom’s and Century 21.
The top charge in that case carries up to 7 years in prison.
