The City Council is investigating one of its members for possibly assaulting a staffer.
The council’s Standards and Ethics Committee yesterday opened a probe into Ydanis Rodriguez (D-Manhattan), who last year won a special election to succeed indicted Miguel Martinez.
The committee assigned three members to find out what took place.
Rodriguez had an argument with the staffer that may have led to some physical contact, sources said.
Leo Glickman, Rodriguez’s lawyer, declined comment.
It is rare that the committee convenes a meeting.
It met only once in 2008 and in 2009, each time for budget hearings.
