Coney Island’s world-famous beach will continue to be a major movie venue this month with showings of megahits “Top Gun” and Moonstruck.”

“Top Gun,” featuring Tom Cruise, will now be shown September 10 and “Moonstruck,” starring Cher, will air September 17. Earlier scheduled performances were rained out. Both will begin at sunset.

The city this summer set up a jumbo, 40-foot screen off W. 10th Street along the amusement district’s sandy beachfront for a new free, summer film series called “Coney Island Flicks at the Beach.”

The first showing was as Brooklyn as it gets: Disco-era, super-hit, “Saturday Night Fever” and featured impersonators of John Travolta’s famed character Tony Manero, who along with the famed Coney Island Dancers, offered Hustle lessons.

Among the other previously shown movies were popular flicks “Iron Man 2” and teen favorite “Justin Beiber: Never Say Never.” Other 3,000 people have attended the showings.

The city’s Coney Island Development Corporation is co-sponsoring the event with NYC & Company, the city’s tourism arm.

In addition, each of the events opens with short films presented by Rooftop Films.
