The city has frozen $72,857 in City Council discretionary grants to nonprofit groups backed by indicted Councilman Dan Halloran, The Post has learned.
Following Halloran’s arrest in April as part of the deal to elect state Sen. Malcolm Smith mayor on the GOP line, the Bloomberg administration and the council began reviewing all his grants.
They have since held up 12 allocations to three different groups.
The groups are the Greater Whitestone Taxpayers Community Center, Quality Services for the Autism Community and Prevention Alternatives for Families in Crisis Nature-Nurture Counseling Center.
