The city will get 120 new MTA buses on its streets over the next two years, replacing many old ones with step-free buses that are closer to the ground to speed up boarding times, officials said.

The MTA Board will vote on $80 million in contracts for the new buses at their Monday meeting.

There will be 75 regular MTA buses, which cost almost half a million dollars per bus.

The articulated buses each cost $750,000.

The new buses will replace older ones that are 10 to 15 years old.

They will hit the streets in 2015 and 2016.
