Public Advocate Tish James channeled her inner Tina Turner during a holiday party on Sunday — belting out a surprisingly impressive rendition of “Proud Mary” — while Queens Democratic leader Joe Crowley jammed alongside her on electric guitar.
Video posted on Twitter shows the pair rocking out at the political bash, which was held in Queens and attended by roughly 300 people, including numerous members of city hall.
“And we rollin’, rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river,” James sings. “Come on ladies, let’s go!”
A source told The Post that lawmakers could be seen getting their groove on throughout the performance. Attendees included Mayor de Blasio, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., Bronx Democratic Leader Marcus Crespo, City Comptroller Scott Stringer, all the council speaker candidates, and several other council members.
“Everyone was there. It was crazy,” the source said. “Joe (Crowley) was just singing song after song.”
At one point, Diaz and Crespo got on the mic and sang “Feliz Navidad” — which was then followed up by an original rap performance by the Bronx BP, who spit some bars about his fellow politicians.
“There was lots of cheering and clapping,” the source said. “It was a huge crowd.”
Mayor de Blasio was late to the party, according to the source, so he missed out on James’ rendition of Proud Mary.
The song was originally recorded by Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1968 and then covered and repackaged by Turner several years later.
“TinaTurnerwatchout! [sic]” wrote one Twitter user, in response to the video.
“Quality,” another said.
