The state’s new gay-marriage law has inspired another first: the opening of city marriage bureaus on a Sunday to accommodate an expected crush of same-sex couples eager to get hitched on the first day they can do so legally.

Mayor Bloomberg and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn announced yesterday that bureaus will be open July 24.
