A day after The Post reported last Sunday that Principal Santiago Taveras installed the shower at DeWitt Clinton HS, facilities personnel arrived to remove it, staffers said. Workers had to use a drill to open the locked door, they said.

The Department of Education could not explain why no one provided a key. Officials claim assistant principals had access to the room, but teachers said no one used it except Taveras.

The DOE said its division of school facilities removed it “to ensure no accidental misuse of the water line.”
