The city’s public beaches are among the most polluted in the country, according to a report released yesterday by the Natural Resources Defense Council.

Manhattan Beach in Brooklyn got the lowest rating, followed by Orchard Beach in The Bronx and parts of the Rockaways.

Staten Island’s Midland and South beaches and Wolfe’s Pond Park were the cleanest in the city.
