Officials have begun testing the “taxi of tomorrow” on the mean streets of Manhattan in preparation for its launch this fall.

The city chose Nissan to design the city’s taxis after Ford announced it was discontinuing the Crown Victoria, the model of car that’s been a mainstay in the city’s current fleet.
