Mayor Bloomberg says it’s full speed ahead on getting the most out of a new payroll project that has resulted in fraud charges against four city consultants.
Bloomberg said Friday on his weekly WOR radio show that the alleged fraud against a project designed to consolidate the city’s payroll and timekeeping records cannot slow the effort to get it done.
Bloomberg said the decade-old project has already resulted in big savings in time and labor. He called it a project that has to get done. Four city consultants were accused of stealing $80 million from the city while working on the project. They have said through their lawyers that they are innocent.
