A Connecticut father’s drinking problem spurred his groping of a fifth-grade girl on a school field trip, a Manhattan judge said yesterday as he sentenced the man to six months he’d already served in jail and 10 years’ probation.
Tomas Manzano, 35, was a chaperone on his son’s class trip from Stamford, Conn., to the Central Park Zoo June 2. During the bus ride, he swigged from a bottle of what smelled like alcohol and then inappropriately stroked and touched several girls.
Supreme Court Justice Gregory Carro ordered Manzano to get alcohol and sex-offender counseling as part of his probation.
