A Queens couple was acquitted yesterday of charges they’d used their 15-year-old niece from El Salvador as a sex slave.

Lawyers for Javier Mencias, 38 and his wife, Angelica, 57, said the girl had spun a tall tale about rape to get a green card.

“The implausibility of her story sounded like a telenovela she made up,” said Angelica’s lawyer, Ernest Atalay.

Prosecutors had accused the Menecias of luring her to the US with the promise of a better life, then forcing her to live a “nightmare.”

She claimed Javier raped her while Angelica watched. But, there was no medical evidence to back her claims of rape.

“There was a lot of information about her we couldn’t bring out at the trial, but the jury made the right decision,” said Javier’s lawyer, Jorge Santos.
