A boom lift smashed into a building in lower Manhattan on Monday, sending pedestrians scattering but causing no injuries.
The crane-like vehicle smashed into a window of a building on Essex Street on the Lower East Side at around 6:40 p.m., the FDNY said.
“There was glass smashing and a huge crash,” resident Ritchie Franco said.
Fire officials said the accident was due to a hydraulic failure.
