Misty eyes bathed in the glow of candlelight marked the tender tribute when area residents joined the North Brooklyn Coalition Against Family Violence for an empowering vigil in Williamsburg.
Big-hearted boroughites showed their solidarity with victims and their relatives during the annual assembly, which remembered victims of domestic abuse and honored their sacrifices with a ceremony in the community room of Southside United Housing, 366 Hewes Street.
The vigil, said its organizers, was meant “to send a message to our community [that] domestic violence will not be tolerated.”
