‘Cocaine cop’: Let me work
A weepy auxiliary cop charged in a cocaine conspiracy begged a judge to be released from jail yesterday to rejoin the force.
Rafael Jimenez said, “I want to return to my family, and I want to return to the Auxiliary Police Department.”
Manhattan federal Judge Victor Marrero refused to rule on the request, saying Jimenez had to make a formal application.
Jimenez is charged with recruiting a retired NYPD cop, Alfredo Rivera, to work as an armed cocaine courier with him.
They were busted last year allegedly trying to move what they thought was 10 kilos of coke for $12,000.
