A fire ripped through a dormitory at SUNY Maritime College in The Bronx, officials said.

Flames could be seen shooting out the window of the second floor dorm where the fire started just before 8 a.m.

The building was evacuated as firefighters battled the blaze, which was brought under control about an hour later.

No one was injured and it is not immediately clear what caused the fire.
