A dozen members of a Colombian rebel group are facing federal charges for holding an American hostage and conspiring to provide material support to terrorists, according to indictments unsealed yesterday in Manhattan federal court.

Two of the 12 men named in a pair of indictments are in custody in New York and Colombia, while the rest are at large, authorities said.

The feds claim the militants supplied weapons to the FARC organization, which the US government has designated as a terrorist group, and carried out kidnappings to collect ransom.

In one case, an unnamed American was snatched from Panama City, Panama, in April 2008 and held 10 months.

The victim’s relatives were told they “would never see the victim again unless the full ransom was paid,” according to the court papers.
