If you want to become a Master of the Universe, first you have to learn to brush your teeth.

After complaints from recruiters about bad hygiene and unprofessional wardrobes, first-year Columbia Business School students yesterday got a harsh memo reminding them to brush their teeth, shower — and stop wearing tacky cufflinks.

“We understand that it is an incredibly intense recruiting period, and [it] is very hard to find time for yourself,” read the missive from the school’s Investment Bankers Club, as first reported by Dealbreaker.com.

“But this is a friendly reminder on some dress code and personal hygiene basics.”

Among the pointers:

* “Brush your teeth regularly, or have a mint/mouth refreshers before going to recruiting events (avoid chewing gums).”

*”Carry anti-perspirant with you if you are worried about sweating. Don’t wear too much cologne/perfume”

On campus, second-year business student Nandini Nayar called the e-mail offensive and “not representative of who we are as students.”
