The head of the NYPD detectives union on Sunday slammed the city’s police-watchdog agency as being “out of control” and “paralyzing” cops.

“The [Civilian Complaint Review Board] substantiates complaints against the detectives for illegal searches even when the detectives have court-ordered warrants,” Detectives’ Endowment Association President Mike Palladino said on John Catsimatidis’ AM 970 radio show.

“They’re guilty of abuse of authority, and that warrants some oversight and maybe a change in leadership over there,” Palladino added.

He said agency investigators who look into complaints against cops lack knowledge of the law and police work.

“The CCRB is in serious need of some training, and they may even warrant some oversight,” Palladino said.

He argued that the second guessing is making it difficult for cops to do their jobs.

“All the constant negativity and oversight is quite paralyzing for cops,” he said.
