The former director of Coney Island Hospital has agreed to pay a $6,000 fine for accepting gifts from a doctors’ group that provided clinical staff to the hospital, officials said yesterday.

Peter Wolf, who resigned his $231,000-a-year post suddenly in January 2009, admitted in a settlement with the Conflicts of Interests Board that he violated the city’s ethics rules by accepting gifts from University Group Medical Associates in 2005.

Wolf said the doctors tossed him a birthday party and gave him two bottles of wine and a $500 gift card. Seven months later, the doctors threw another surprise party for his promotion.
