A royal revel was on the menu as mom, dad and the kids teamed up with festive-minded frolickers to celebrate Purim at Congregation Israel of Kings Bay.

The young and the young-at-heart made merry during a program of commemoration at the community temple, 3903 Nostrand Avenue, where a jubilant Megillah reading was followed by a costume contest and other special attractions.

Purim, observed on the 14th day of Adar, one month before Passover, commemorates the deliverance of Jews living under Persian rule from royal adviser Haman’s evil designs to exterminate them.
