NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A Connecticut man charged with killing a woman and her two daughters in a 2007 home invasion is trying to get statements he made to police on the day of his arrest thrown out.
A hearing on the motion by Joshua Komisarjevsky is planned Tuesday in New Haven Superior Court. Komisarjevsky’s trial starts next month.
Komisarjevsky and Steven Hayes were charged with killing Jennifer Hawke-Petit, who was strangled, and her daughters, who died of smoke inhalation after the house was set on fire.
Judge Jon Blue denied a motion Monday to sequester Dr. William Petit, the sole survivor.
Hayes was convicted last year and is on death row.
