A pair of quick-thinking Connecticut cops saved a driver from burning to death — by stamping out the flames with snow, police said Friday.
New Canaan Sgt. Peter Condos and Officer Tom Patten found the motorist engulfed in flames around 9 a.m. Thursday while responding to a vehicle fire on Rosebrook Road.
With the vehicle at risk of exploding, Condos and Patten grabbed fistfuls of snow to extinguish the burning driver, said New Canaan Chief of Police Leon Krolikowski.
The motorist –– whose identity was not released –– was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for their injuries.
One of the officers suffered minor injuries.
Condos and Patten will receive the department’s Lifesaving Award for their act of bravery, Krolikowski said.
