A Staten Island politician who’s known for incendiary rhetoric called cops Wednesday after receiving threatening messages and a suspicious package, police sources said.
State Assemblyman Ronald Castorina, a Republican, told cops he received harassing emails Tuesday and a package from an unknown sender Wednesday.
Police didn’t reveal what the e-mails said. The package was sent priority mail and contained a piece of paper that read “Greetings,” the sources said.
Castorina has accused Black Lives Matter protesters of sparking violence against police officers and recently said abortion had become akin to “African American genocide” in New York. He has proposed a “Blue Lives Matter” bill to make it a hate crime to physically assault a cop.
