The Westchester principal who lost a city Department of Education job offer when The Post reported about the scandals that happened on his watch is now crawling back to the school he bolted.

Reginald Richardson, 50, sent a one-line note to New Rochelle HS bigwigs announcing that he “hereby rescind[s] my letter of resignation” Thursday — just one week after he filed his intent to quit.

Richardson planned to join the city DOE as its $160,000 “director of school quality,” but had the offer yanked when The Post called to inquire about his scandal-scarred tenure at New Rochelle HS.

Those controversies include a grade-fixing debacle and the stabbings of three students — including one gang-related attack that left a 16-year-old girl dead at a nearby Dunkin’ Donuts.

When asked about the black eyes, Richardson said that they simply “did not come up” during his job interview.

His voicemail was full when The Post called for comment Monday.

The New Rochelle School District said the local board of education would weigh his bid to return at its Aug. 7 executive session meeting.

Richardson first announced his resignation from New Rochelle HS on July 19, but the departure wasn’t to take effect until late August.
