A particularly pungent 2008 Honda caught the nose of a Port Authority cop Thursday night as it exited the Jersey end of the Holland Tunnel, leading to the arrest of the car’s two occupants and the confiscation of $40,000 cash.

Officer John Adams stopped the car at around 9:30 p.m. after smelling a strong odor of marijuana — despite the multiple air fresheners that had been scattered inside. Driver Manuel Rodriquez of Kearny, N.J., could not produce a license and registration.

It turned out the license had been suspended. A police canine that was brought to the scene alerted on three marijuana cigarettes, an empty but reeking cooler in the trunk, and a bag containing nearly $40,000 in cash, cops said. Rodriquez also had nearly $2,000 in his pocket.

Rodriquez, 39, was charged with DUI, financial facilitation of a criminal act and possession of a controlled substance in a motor vehicle.

His passenger, Jessica Torres, 28, of Miami, was charged with pot possession.
