An NYPD sergeant fired multiple times at a stolen car after the driver allegedly slammed into a police cruiser early Thursday morning, cops said.

The 44-year-old suspect, whose name was not released, boosted a running Toyota Camry near West 31st Street and Broadway in Midtown around 1:15 a.m., according to cops.

Police spotted the stolen car a few hours later and pulled it over near West 44 Street and 12th Avenue.

When the sergeant got out to approach the driver’s side of the Camry, the carjacker allegedly floored it in reverse, crashing into the NYPD cruiser, according to the NYPD.

The sergeant then pulled his gun — firing off multiple rounds at the car thief, police said.

None of the rounds hit the 44-year-old, who was taken into custody on pending charges, according to cops.

Police had shut down the northbound side of the West Side Highway between West 44th and West 47th streets around 7 a.m. for at least a half-hour as they investigated, according to the NYPD’s Twitter.
